Es interesante como le ponen a los Iceberg un GPS
In 2009, an MBARI research team led by Ken Smith set sail on the Research Vessel Ice Breaker (RVIB) Nathaniel B. Palmer to study biogeochemical cycles around icebergs using novel instruments. The primary purpose of the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle is to deliver a GPS drop tag to the top of the iceberg. The tag sends a position via satellite every hour and that information is downloaded to MBARI and sent to engineers on the ship. These positions allow researchers to calculate the speed, direction, and distance that the iceberg moves.
